20th Century Boy and Girl is a heart warming romantic comedy about a trio of best friends who are single and in their 30s. Two of them live ordinary lives and they have lived in the same neighborhood since they were children. Sa Jin Jin (Han Ye Seul) is the leader of the pack and Han A Reum (Ryu Hyun Kyung) & Jang Young Sim (Lee Sang Hee) are her BFFs. They all grew up together and have been friends since they were kids.

Jin Jin is a former idol singer and is now a fabulous actress who is aggressively scouted by many advertisement companies. Not only is she beautiful, she is wise, understanding and has a fangirl crush on Anthony (Lee Sang Woo).

Han A Reum (Ryu Hyun Kyung) works at an airline and seems to be the cool, loud friend. However, she is dealing with a medical problem that she is concerned may impede her from getting married and having children. It appears as if the co-pilot of the airline company that she works for may have an interest in her. 

Not much is known about Jang Young Sim (Lee Sang Hee) in the first episode. We know that she is also single, shy and a bit timid. However, she loves her friends and seems to round out their personalities well. 

As aforementioned, Jin Jin has a fan girl crush on Anthony (Lee Sang Woo). It appears that Anthony was or is still a famous idol. She chooses him over the real life Gong Yoo in a game that she and her BFF's play. Now you know that is serious if you choose someone over Gong Yoo.🙀🙀🙀 Anthony is the second lead in this one guys. 

Not much is known about Gong Ji Won (Kim Ji Suk). He shows up in the last 10 minutes of the first episode and regulates!!! He speaks English really well and seems to work for a stock company. Ladies, Kim Ji Suk is finally a main lead!!!! It appears that he has a thing for Jin Jin, which can only mean one thing. He is going to fight for love!

The first episode of this drama receives a perfect score from me. Although there seems to have been a couple of bumps in the road before this drama could even start:

1. Name Change (From No Sex In The City to 20th Century Boy and Girl
2. The MBC Strike (This drama was supposed to air back on Sept. 24)

all seems well with this amazing drama!

The chemistry between Jin Jin and her BFFS is stellar. The drama starts with them playing a game of Choose Your Date. haha! I think only Koreandramaluvhers will get that one. They ask who would you choose, Park Bo Gum or Song Joong Ki. You ladies know how this game works. You choose the guy that is the most appealing to you. This dynamic definitely shows a fun and even youthful side to this 30 something year old crew. 

The theme of this drama is also relatable to women no matter their cultures who are older and single. Society seems to put a heavy connotation on women who reach a certain age who are unmarried without children. This drama focuses on South Korea's worldview on singleness through various dramas that the crew watched in the beginning of this drama. It is a lonely road, especially when the expectations of femininity seems to be on the focus of marriage and motherhood. 

Honestly, I am also a hugggggeee fan of Kim Ji Suk! I have been following his career for a long time and have always wanted to see him play the main lead. Finally my wish has come true, and he is smart, handsome, intelligent, and swaggy! The last few minutes of the first episode really solidifies my appreciation for him! I also loved his reaction when he saw Jin Jin for the first time at the end of Episode 1. It had to be the cutest expression ever!😻😻😻

I would absolutely recommend you all to watch the first Episode of this drama! If you have an interest in romantic comedies, 2CB&G is for you. I absolutely love 💛💛💛romantic comedies! Out of all genres, it is my favorite. I also am a huge fan of age appropriate dramas. Meaning, I appreciate when everyone at least is in the same age range. I find it more practical and relatable to the general audience.
